I got done for parking the wrong way as well. The fine was for wheels not parallel and close to kerb.
I argued with the tosser, but he said that the Passenger side wheels must be within an allowable distance from the kerb. I reckon it was just an excuse to give me a fine. If only I was an Aboriginal, I could claim discrimination! It says race, colour, creed, not vehicle Marque :( I just paid the $66. In my area (suburban) there is this full time parking dude who just goes around fining people. Gee he must be popular at local parties :) Nick > > From: Rick White <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Re: Parking Fine - nature strip > Date: 05/02/2002 21:34:54 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Julian. > I think your problem wasn't getting booked for parking on a nature strip,it was for >parking on the nature strip too close to a corner. > I think the rules state you can not park within 100 metres from a corner either on >the road or the verge. > The actual distance may be wrong but the rule is right. > Any how jst go pay it. > You and every one who reads this email will know better next time. > P.S I sed to live in a suberb called Como here in Perth a few years ago and we only >had one parking bay each. > Visitors used to have to park on the verge and I found out a new rule while I was >living there. > There was a bloke who came past our block of flats every night just to fine us for >parking facing the wrong way aswell. > Supposably it is illegal to park facing the wrong way up a street. > The reason is you have to drive up the street on the wrong side of the road to do >this. > So not only did you get a parking fine but you also got a fine from the police sent >to you a week later. > Total cost of thoes two fines was $180.00 and two demettit points. > I never did this as I used my private bay but lots of friends got done and so did >the neibours friends. > Any how bye for now. > Rick White. > > --- Julian <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > >Does anyone have a good way to get out of a parking infringement for > >parking on the nature strip?
