I'll second that Heath
If you would rather deal with someone who greets
you with words instead of grunts. See Ian Stewart at carb tech.
I have found Ian to be better on price
and service.32843061

List,
On the subject of weber jets, where can we buy them
(brisbane or gold coast) and what should we expect to pay??
Thanks allot
Steve
Mick,
I thought you may have meant this (just after I hit
send)
Changing jets is easy, just undo the wing nuts and the mains are
exposed. You're as sea level so going up the mountains just makes you run
a bit rich which isn't a major problem for a short time, if you were
racing then one heat range hotter would do the trick. I'm the other way
round, idles like a dog at sea level with Canberra jetting and it's not
good running lean as we all know.
I only have a couple of sets that I use all the time, especially
when I go to Sydney and up your way etc. I gave away all the others with
the last set of twins that I sold a while back, which are now on a Stanza
dirt car that runs out of Wagga in the Riverina.

I actually meant a collection of jets and
chokes.
I have never really felt the need to change
jets for altitude but even if i did... how easy is it? The fact that the
jets are accessible is a big plus and if by trying out some jets I can
make the car run better then it seems like a good idea. Shame the jets
are so expensive...
Zac - what happened to ur list? (pretty
handy thing to have i'd reckon)
cheers

Mick,
Zac actually started a library of jet & air settings a few
years back but I think we lost interest or something. One thing that
was very noticeable was the wide variety of settings with all of the
different engine configs, altitudes etc meant that no two set-ups were
the same. Not surprising, the US Birds think we Aussies are nut cases
for running webers instead of SU's as we have to adjust them to drive
down the mountain.

Terry
Heath
That would be really good.
Its surprising that with all these
dattos getting round with twin webers we don't organise a jet
'library'
I've had my setup for 3 years or so and
never played with the settings but since the carbs run so cool now I
want to try a few things
cheers
Mick
