Most engine importers should normally still have them in stock, or check the Ozdat classifieds I'd guess around $1500 would be a reas. price. Being quite old now, a good inspection or warranty would be worthwhile. Fj's are IMO very strong stock, with a very solid bottom and top end which while not as smooth(or fuel efficient :) as other engines is simple and robust. Lots of mild FJ 16's have run in the 13's, making upwards of around 160Hp at the wheels. I'd imagine around 15Psi will be the limit for the std T3 and pistons - with aftermarket ECU or modified Nissan unit. Changing to aftermarket ECU is definitely worthwhile if you can afford it as you can remove the std. AFM which is quite restrictive, and will let you run more boost safely. I ran my FJ with 10Psi with the std ECU without drama before going aftermarket. Apart from a blown head gasket (caused by a leaking heater hose) ,new clutch and replacing the timing chain tensioner I've had a great run with my ! car and it is a lotta fun and still demoralises lots of newer Jap imports. The CA is also a great motor, with lots of potential for similar $ too...which might lead the list  into the continuing FJvs SR etc.. argument again :)
