I ended up going elsewhere, but was good. Car is a lot more tidy now, and is getting a bit more top end as well. Got the vvt set up, and got about 15kw more at the wheels through the mid range too. I'm a happy man. Spoke to Tony, but not wanting to insult a bloke who I don't know, and hav't seen his work, I found another joint who were quite experienced with the sr and the vvt motor, as well as motec.
