No it should not if the program is any good.

Subject: Compression Ratio's

I don't know if this is going to come out making the same sense as it does in my head, but here goes...

I've used a compression ratio calculation program to work out what sized dish to get made on my new pistons.  The software asked for "piston down from TDC". I've worked out a compression height for my pistons that ends up with them sitting perfectly at deck level of the block when the pistons are at TDC. So in the software I entered 0mm in the "piston down from TDC" value.

My question is, does this value include head gasket thickness? If I enter 0mm will it assume 0mm below deck height, or 0mm below the gasket?

I'm using a 2mm copper ridgecrest gasket, should I add 2mm onto my requested piston height?

Dave
