When I had My VL engine re-built (RB30ET) it ran pretty badly. I took it to a supposed Nissan specialist who claimed that the difference between the RB30 in the Holden was one complete tooth on the timing belt retarded, as opposed to the GTS Skyline. So he advanced it, and it didn't seem to make any difference at all!!!!
