Kris,
The Nissan louvre has 3 prong things on the bottom of it which slide
between the rubber and the glass. On the top it has two more of them that
are in a sliding arrangement and adjustable by way of little notches and
they are held in place by a grub screw. It nearly has to be one of these
that are missing as the bottom ones are fixed and you'll have one to make up
a replacement. It wouldn't be all that difficult to do. One thing I've found
with these louvres is you need to gaffa the ends of the slides that go next
to the glass to stop them rattling again the glass as they are metal. The
louvres polish up nice and bright and they do keep the sun out, but if
you haven't go a heated rear window then it's nigh impossible to defog the
rear glass. I've found that product called Rainex anti-fog is brilliant
for this purpose. I live in Canberra (as in freezing) and my 1600 used to
fog up all the time especially in the wet, but with all of the glass treated
with this stuff it's not a problem.
