jarrod,

the location and frequency of chassis numbers depends on its year
of manufacture. Late 1600s which have a compliance plate have a
chassis number (and year of manufacture) on the compliance plate
(on the RH strut tower?), and stamped into the firewall, and also on
the RHS of the engine bay near the top fender edge? Whereas it
appears an early 1600 may or may not have a chassis number
stamped at all. Mine is stamped into the firewall under the
windscreen wipers only, with no compliance plate and no build year
identification.
