Are you sure that its the sensor and not the guage? or wiring? Take the wire off the sensor and put it to the block, the temp guage should go straight to hot, the upper end. If this happens then your guage and wiring are fine, the sensor is dead.
If nothing happens on the guage then there is either 1. no power to guage 2. guage broken 3. wiring from guage to sensor is no good. Hope this helps YOu should be able to get one atany parts store. The original for that year i think would be a Niles one, but any will do that are listed for yours. Not sure if the sensor changed when the Niles changed over to ??Bosch?? was it? cant remember Cu Chris S ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, June 04, 2003 1:54 PM Subject: 68' 1600 Temp sender unit > List > > I think the temp sender unit on my 68' 1600 is dead, will do some tests soon > to make sure its not the gauge. > If I have to buy one what brand and part number should I get ? > > Thanks > Hamish > > > --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------
