What motor is in the F150? Regarding the Ford donk: To successfully set something like that up, He will be spending a few bucks on it.
Taking on something like this is definately not for the feint hearted, he would need a few thousand bucks to back the whole project up before he even considered beginning it. If he is talking complete BS nonsense and pulling your leg, then tell him to get his hand off it. If he is going to take it on he would end up with a very potent little truck, with power figures of 500hp being pretty much within easy reach, and potentially a lot more if he does his research and goes about it sensibly. He should really get ahold of a book called Maximum Boost by Corky Bell and read it several times before he spends a cent on the engine tho. I have read my copy 8 times now and am still learning! If he's serious then his best shot would be to aim for a twin turbo setup, possibly get hold of a matching pair of T28 turbos or a matching pair of T3s, fit decompression plates under the heads or lower compression ratio pistons, preferably forged pistons. Depending on various other factors as well, he may need to do other work inside the engine to cope with the extra power. He would also have to make up some custom exhaust manifolds to bolt up to the turbos, plumb in the oil lines to the engine, also the coolant lines to the turbo, then he would need to figure out a way to keep the thing in tune & get enough fuel in. Installing fuel injection would be a good move also. Then you got other considerations such as intercooling and exhaust, etc.. Another consideration is that there may be an aftermarket kit produced for the V8 that is readily available so maybe worth doing some research on it. Could save a lot of grief & dollars if that is the case. On the E engine going into a sprint car, join the E15et yahoo group and search the archives, there was talk a while back of there being available some forged motorbike pistons that go straight into the E15 block which will get the compression ratio up to some enormous figure and produce stupid amounts of power, without a turbo. A & E engines have some sort of cult following in the sprint car world & I think you will find what your looking for in that yahoo group. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of tobias walker Sent: Thursday, 3 July 2003 4:47 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: E15 head on a A series well I've met a mad tinkerie out here at mount isa who would like to fit a E 15 head on a A series fo his minature sprint car ??? any ideas also his tow car is a f150 he'd like to turbo it ?? any more ideas ??? _________________________________________________________________ Hot chart ringtones and polyphonics.
