I’ve got that exact combo on my 1600, I got a 7/8” master cylinder off a late 70’s model skyline.  It works a treat.  The only suggestion I can give to you is to get a seal kit and replace the seals in any second hand master cylinder.  Mine was fine for about 1 week after I put it on and then it started to leak.  For the 15 dollar seal kit, it’s money well spent!

Terry,

Would you be able to tell me the best size master cylinder to use with a 180B booster, R31 rears and hilux 4-spot fronts? No one seems to be able to answer me confidently so i wouldn't mind getting your opinion :)

Also, Will i need a brake bias valve? Or will i be okay without it??

Any help would be great!

Thanks,

Mark

Kris,

15/16" is way too large for that combo, even a stock 3/4" would be better, but 13/16" from Sunny B310 would be close to perfect - it will even cope well with r31 rears if you go that route at a later date.

regards

Terry

Subject: Master cylinder

Hi All,

I was wondering what would be the ideal size master cylinder on a 1600 with 180B booster, 200B Girlock brakes and std wheel cylinders.

I curently have a 15/16 from a 280ZX. It has a hard pedal with not much movement but seems to loose efficiency when given a work out.

Thanks,

            Kris.
