Sorry I missed the cutoff date for the site recording the response to "Turbo Toms" untimely death.
I learnt about Tom by reading of his influence on another great US Datto1600phile - Bryan Feldman, who worked with and learned from Tom. I just checked Turbo Tom's web site and can see why Bryan is such an enthusiast and a perfectionist in his car fabrication. www.Bryanf.com is also worth a visit - not as Datto filled as his former site, but pretty impressive. ----- Original Message ----- From: "sss510" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "OZDAT" <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, February 08, 2005 2:35 AM Subject: Fw: Turbo Tom > Hi there all, this has just been sent to the Bluebirds list. > > I never met the man, but know he was one of the great men of Turbo L series > buildups. > Without such people around maybee 1600 wiould not be as sought over as they > are now. > > Anyhow, he is in the big race track in the sky now, with all the fallen > 510's/1600's > > Rick White. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Jason Gray" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Sunday, February 06, 2005 11:35 AM > Subject: Fw: Turbo Tom > > > I was recently contacted by a family member of legendary 510 builder Tom > Waite AKA "turbo tom" with the sad news that Tom and his girlfriend were > recently killed in a car wreck.
