We have had a lot of discussion on big capacity L series engines over the
last 6 years. LD 20 cranks have been discussed (cranks for L series
deisels) and there are plenty of crank swaps that enlarge capacity. I am
sure a web search will pick up some information.
Datrally (Les Collins) made 2.35l. "grunter" engines by stroking L20, and
later L18, blocks with a special plate on top of the block and sleeved bores
through this plate to extend the bore hight. They gave good torque but not
huge revs.- ideal for rallying. Big $$$.
