Bosch make an 85 amp "universal" alternator that bolts on to an Lseries
engine and also bolts on to Holden engines as OEM.  It has a sliding tube in
its bottom bracket that allows adjustment to fit both engines lower mounting
points.  My son fitted on to his L18 engine..
