No the L20B was a bit poor in output, due to its low compression for
emissions reasons. From memory around the same output as a stock L18.

You keep the L20B head but replace the low compression deep dished pistons
with flat tops to increase compression, then you can gain real power
increases with further breathing via porting, head shaving and cam profile .

Hi guys,
Still on the same topic...the L20b engine is it got more power then the
L18 in STD form. to get more power from the L20b engine what is the
easiest way to do it.

I guess L20b is a low compression engine and by changing the cylinder
head you get some power, is it true.

Mohit.

Around 170 crank hp is achievable.

A 2 litre will give better bang for your buck.

Speaking of L16's
what sort of power output can be made from an L16 ?
anybody got any rough idea of cost v HP for them ?

I am forward thinking to next year once I have my suspension sorted out
weather I should think about an engine transplant or just spend money on
improving the engine that I already have.

ta Jeff
