Yes, but the DeltaManager does an all-to-all replication which limits scalability. The BackupManager does a replication to another tomcat (according to the docs this is not that much tested), and this requires special configuration in the load balancer to support this. And both are using java serialization - for the memcached-session-manager I implemented xml based serialization that allows easier code upgrades. Of course you still need to think about code changes that affect classes stored in the session, but removing fields is easier to support than with java serialization.
