Hi Biswajit, Basically this is a standard linux error message telling you that another process is already using port 11211 on your ip address 10.0.0.40. If you enter "netstat -lp" you get all the listening sockets on your system telling you the pid and the program name in the last column. So you just need to look up the ip address and the port in the local address column and check what program is using it. If it is not an already running memcached then you should provide your memcached a different port to listen on using the "-p" directive. Cheers Sebastian
