I've been using gem install *.gem -i MY_APP/gems and I think it's helpful for freezing but now I'd like to run gems from that folder. I know how to add the gems/bin folder to $PATH but I get gem dependency issues. How can I configure gem to look in MY_APP/gems to meet dependencies? I've tried hunting around for environmental variables but I'm still lost. This is more of an environment configuration question but it might be helpful to others.
I'm on OS X 10.5 (Leopard) if that matters.
