I noticed that the R-Model Mercedes looks just like the Chrysler Pacificia.
Are they based on a common structure.?
I would just like to know.

Chrysler and MB only remotely share body structures. The Pacifica body structure is actually a spinoff of the Chrysler minivan. They are built on the same line in Windsor, Ontario. The new 300C and Charger body structure is partially based off the E-Class. Of course alot of reinforcements and weight were thrifted out for cost reasons. No actual parts are shared.
