I think you have to give them a deposit, $200 if I recall (you have to
do this at the physical auction site when you register, before they let
you in and give you a bidder number), then you can bid online. You
might have to have a bank letter or something too -- I recall seeing
some instructions on the web site about how it works. I don't know if
that runs up the bid until the real auction, then it starts at whatever
thehigh online bid is. Maybe they are trying to the charity eBay or
something.
