Ayup, you will have to swap in the entire 116 system as it's completely
different, even the plugs and connectors are different and the relay is
completely different (possibly not if the 116 is MY 1980, tho).

The 126 plugs wont screw into the 116 head? Any of the temp sensors different? Are you talking aobut the complete harness that hooks the plugs/temp sensors into the glow plug relay? IS this all thats attatched to this harness or does anything go elsewhere on the car besides to the relay?

Also the 116 has the cable-operated warmup idle adjustment, where the 126
did not.

Thats not a problem, just leave off the cable.


What about the vacuum pump?


Big difference, the wrench who did mine had to fabricate plumbing, you will
have to use the 116 one I would think.

OK. So if that is the case would probably have to keep the 116 air cleaner then since it has the vacuum pump exhaust going to it.

The biggest difference of all is the oil pan. Going in reverse to your swap,
the 116 pan touches the 126 crossmember just enough to make a constant thump
over large bumps. You will need to measure carefully to make sure there are
not other issues, going the opposite way.

Got ya.  Can swap pans while the engines are out.

Also the oil cooler lines are differerent, depending on which oil filter
housing you use.

Will be using the 84 housing so the 126 cooler lines will just stay with the car.
