visited A-1 barrel company this morning. They
recondition barrels, vacuuming out the contents. Oils
are strictly separated (showed me his certificate of
purity, which he needs to sell it to guys who use it
to heat shops, etc)...mix of virgin motor and tranny
fluid (mainly) with a tad of veggie. 1,000 liters for
$75 (includes tote)...comes to 28.4 cents/gallon.

What I am womdering is now is if this stuff can be
used in a dual tank "veggie oil" system. The flash
point of D2 is 125 degrees, of veggie oil 620
degrees...motor oil is 460, 480 for synthetics and
tranny oil is 400. So from that perspective, it should
work. Viscosities, I doubt are much different,
especially at the injection temp of 160 degrees.

The only thing I'm wondering about is:
1) the effect of burning oil detergents in the engine
2) what do you get when you burn synthetic oil?
plastic? The oil furnaces burn it fine, so I think it
should be OK.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
