Yup, we did.

Brian,
Did you try a fully charged or new battery? Did you eliminate the
starter?

Okay, let's talk briefly about "a major supplier." I have seen some on
the
web, but need inside information. I know I was told about Tri Star
Pete's or
Jose's, but what about some of the suppliers that can be found on the
web?
Who is trustworthy? I'm not dismissing Tri Star, just posing the
question.

And, yes, we weren't just going to go in and assume a total rebuild, the

problem was going to be investigated step by step and a total rebuild
done
only if necessary.

As for pull-starting. We didn't go ahead with that because I had
questions
as to whether doing so would further damage the engine which may just be

barely siezed, if you will, and if that's a legitimate condition. Didn't

know if pull starting might further scar cylinders, bearing races, etc.
I'm
just asking.

And what about LT Don's question about how the tranny might like it if
the
engine is locked up tight. It's a manual. Would that be too rough on it?

Thanks for bearing with me on these questions. Just seeking answers.
