Not to mention GM's entry into FWD compacts with the X-Body (Citation, Phoenix, Omega, Skylark). I bought a five door four speed Citation in 1985 with 145k on the odo, scrapped it in 1989 with 208k on it. Iron Duke engine was all original as far as I know. I had to rebuild the carb and replace a choke pulloff solenoid during my ownership. The shift interlock came unbolted at 168k, and I was too cheap to replace the obviously worn 1-2 gear fork when I had the transaxle apart. When the fork finally broke during a speed shift into 2nd, I sold the car to a junkyard for $20 and bought a new Horizon.
