I was specifically speaking of the trolley with the MILLION DOLLAR EACH cars that runs from Freighthouse Square, a derelict shopping area to 9th and Commerce. The cars were built in IIRC Sweden. All spare parts must be ordered from there. That's a cost effective move. Yes, there is a bus station along the route, and the amtrak station near the Square. It also runs past UW Tacoma. Unfortunately nobody but the bums ride it. It did exceed ridership expectations though. After it was in service for a few months the transit folks declared it a winner in that the ridership was almost double the expectations. Unfortunately, someone ask what the exact numbers were and it was revealed that noone actually counted riders. The operators simply "guessed" at the number of people on board. Now that's a case of running a tight ship!
And guess what, the busses still drive right past there. He is really just a touch sensitive because he wanted the light rail to actually go all the way to the airport, not just to the Mall. Now Ken will be spending his hard earned dollars to fuel his Benz so that he can drive the extra mile to pick up the in-laws, instead of being able to watch the game on TV while they marvel at the wonders of Puget Sound and how well the democrats have made of mess of the place. I suspect he also would like there to be ONE transit system instead of every tom, dick, and harry or municipality or guy with a train setting up yet another way to get lost. Widen the roads, make more diesel and allow only the people in a diesel benz to use the roads
