Tom,

The stations here have button selectors that mix 93 and 87 internally
to dispense 89.

I "mix" to get 89 or better octane at lower cost.  In my area,
regular, mid and premium are about 4.09, 4.29 and 4.42, respectively.
If the pricing was applied linearly, 89 would not be 4.29 but instead
about 4.20 instead.  Saves about $2/tank and takes less than two
minutes more time.
