Mak, Yes, and if you have a turbocharger it will respond quicker on the opening of the throttle. What engine were you applying it to?
The high temp coatings, tho much more expensive, will contain the heat too, as they are coated on the inside as well as the outside. The wrap has been known to burn out tubing headers but shouldn't hurt cast iron.
