There is a wrecker (towing company) down the street from my work that has car auctions every now and then. Basically impound cars or whatever that never got picked up. They had a somewhat decent looking 82 240D today. Had a dented up door and messed up paint on the hood but no rust etc. Impound, no keys or title, so who knows if it ran or not. Sticker on it looks like it was left in an apartment complex or something and they had it towed. I would have paid 2-300 for it and take a gamble. Well, it sold for 800 something. Geez.
