Obviously different but that's based only on my experience.

The 944 has unique handling characteristics due to its 50/50 weight ratio.
And the 300E unique handling characteristics due to its very rigid body,
unique front end geometry and 5 link rear suspension.

They are close on the highway & regular driving around town but the
similarity stops when you push them through curves at any speed.

Too oblique for me, Tom.  Are you saying they're obviously similar or
obviously different if driven hard?  I'd vote for the former and so
would a lot of professional test drivers.
