Assisted the daughter Friday with moving into the university for her senior
year. Of course, had to hit the bookstore.

I was AMAZED (and perhaps I am showing my age here) at how much kids had to
spend for books now.

The first of two students in line in front of me spent in the high $500
level on his, and the next individual spent $695 on hers! And I think these
were used books. A girl in the line beside me returned one book for a class
she had dropped, and was credited $125.

Back when I was attending universities -- the first four years of the 1970s
and then two more in the mid 1980s, it seems that an expensive book was $50,
with most being between $20 and $30 -- especially during the first four
years (1970s).
