So, here I have $2k Ethelred, a somewhat ratty 380 SL, and the plan
was just to get it going and all working and sell it for a modest
profit. Double my money? Maybe, if the V8 market will bear it.
But the seats got even more ruined in a heavy rainstorm, and the
soft top is pretty sad. Rusty's got soft tops on sale, and I
could get some Tex seat covers for not too horrible a price.
That'd pretty much ruin any chance of selling the car for a
profit, though, given that the paint is peeling and now we've
got that whole fouling spark plug thing going on. (Fuel mileage
is substantially down as a result.)
What to do, what to do...
