Lots of expensive looking bits to go wrong, like those injectors, high pressure pump, O2 sensor, control unit and a gazillion little sensors.
Not like the old school Diesels, eh.

No different than any Honda or Toyota you'd buy nowadays. IMO, the controllers aren't a problem at all, and every vehicle you buy for the past 15 years has at least one O2 sensor on it.

So far, the only type of work I can't do myself or with an OBDII scanner is the software updates and that injector calibration code. Most other typical maintenance isn't much different than the older ones. I love the lack of mechanical linkages and vacuum driven accessories!!

BTW have you been back and complained about the shaking or are you a previous Diesel customer?

Heheh, I can't say I've noticed anything ;) Once I replace the motor mounts the turn off shudder will be gone and I'll be driving a gasser again.
