Thanks Mike, it sounds like one I've seen in a magazine for $150, I thought it was a Honda at first. I'll do some web searches.

Harry,
I have no idea on the make......it looks like a honda engine clone. I bought mine at Grossman's bargain outlet on clearance for $138 with tax and all. It has really been a lifesaver, i can carry it anywhere, it is extremely quiet and starts easily. Set the choke and give it a couple pulls is all it takes. Only complaint i have is that for whatever reason, it wants to be on level ground or setting with the petcock downhill to run right.

Mike

Thanks for the input, sounds like what I'm looking for. Can you provide
some more info, where, what and how much. Starts easy, hard ?

Harry

I have one of the four stroke 2000w models and I love it. It runs the sump
pump and lights very well if the power goes out. It will start the fridge
sometimes but it doesn't like it. Power is not very clean or steady. I
wouldn't suggest one for running a pc as it makes terrible interference
when i tried to run the tv. Works great for power tools too. Weighs maybe
fifty pounds. Runs for FIVE hours on one gallon of gas.

Mike

Anyone have experience with these small units? I see them for ~$150, 2000
watt, both 2 and 4 stroke.

I have a 4500 watt that handles the fridge, TV and lights. That's all I
really need down here in the south.

However, I would like to have a back up for the back up that would be
small enough to haul around by hand and use away from the house.

Thanks
Harry
