'Just talked to Delta Faucets tech rep. The bonnet IS screwed onto the spout body, and the disc-shaped flange around the body IS FIXED to the body - not movable. Tech rep recommended pouring white vinegar into the bonnet and let it sit/soak for several hours to loosen mineral deposits, etc,. on the threads. BTW, parts no longer available. New faucet ~$330! Meanwhile, I'm gonna keep trying to unscrew the bonnet.
