Commercial captains often invited me "up front" when I was flying commercial
in uniform in '60's and '70's.

Back in 1983, my late friend DJG and I were flying from Heathrow to
Frankfurt
on Lufthansa to pick up my new Porsche in Stuttgart. So, after departure he
asks the flight attendant to take his Boeing business card up to the
cockpit.
He was working in Customer Training at the time and not only was he called
up
front but sat in the jumpseat until we started down. I remained back in 25C
or
so with my cookie.
