I need to find out more details as to if they are getting rid of the
whole thing and shutting it down, or just shutting it down for us to be
able to service. If they are not completely shutting it down, Im going
to look into buying the equipment myself and run it independent.

If you are at all interested in continuing doing what you have
been doing, I would counsel looking seriously at making a go of
it independent.
You know how to take the photos and list the cars. You know what
works and what doesn't. And you know the people at the dealers.
Perfect situation!
Independent operator coin has two sides, though. Employee
status is probably better if:
* you like the security of a budget-able income
* you find you need someone else to tell you what to work on
next
* you want to your days off to never be interupted
Independent status may be better if:
* you like schedule flexibility
* you are willing to work as needed to get the job done
* your family can cope with famine/feast money flow.
Neither way is intrinsically better. What matters is which
fits you!
