Supposedly, MB engineers said this sedan was the best they ever built (the remar was made in the mid 90s) and having owned 2 280SEs 4.5 - I can believe it. Except for rust problems (rockers, bumper support, headlight boxes) they were awesome. Engine got 14/15 mpg but would spin the tires at 45mph when passing gear was engaged.

Wish I still had one - wish I could afford to maintain one properly too -- ;-)
