People are idiots. My wife and I were waiting at Olive Garden (she had a gift
card otherwise I'd never go there) the other day, it was maybe 15F outside and
this idiot is wearing shorts... Oh and he's complaining its too cold in the
lobby. I was DYING of the heat in my heavy coat... It was probably 75 in there
but everytime the doors opened there was a big draft and the guy would get all
pissy.
Finally, and this is classic, his wife says "Just shut up, you were stupid
enough to wear shorts!" the whole lobby applauded.

yeah, i saw that go by, and just giggled,... if people still think that
wind affects the temp of metal the same way it affects exposed flesh,
i'm not currently inclined to discuss it with them.
'Wind Chill' still seems like a pretty irrelevant concept, anyway,
for anything except adding more drama to the weather report. i mean,
i've experienced it even in the desert, but why would anyone have flesh
exposed when it's cold enough that Wind Chill would *really* matter?
