Up until earlier this year, the 15W-50 was the easiest to locate, and relatively cheap ($19 for the 5qt jug at Wal-Mart). The 5W-40 (Delvac-1) was pretty much only available from distributors, in gallon jugs, for $24+.
Then, Mobil totally changed their marketing scheme and also released a number of new formulas. Now, the 15W-50 is only available as 'Extended Performance', now $24 (approx) for the 5qt jug. And, they released the 5W-40 both in quarts AND in a 5qt jug for $20.
