----But you CAN operate it very well and much more economically on a timer. For 4 winters in the MI UP, I flipped on the breaker for my block heater and a small elec. cabin heater in my Dodge van when I'd get up; an hour later, engine and the cabin were nice and warm, and all windows were ice free.
