<<So, the Pilkington windshield had to be replaced in ~4 years due to pitting and the PPG is not like the OE either? Is it holding up any better? And yah, I know, it's no collector's item or classic....just a diesel <vbg>>>
Windshield damage is directly related to how much debris is on the roads one drives on. In my area, the freeways are not very clean and traffic is heavy and fast, much of the time. And so my car's original glass had a couple of small stars and a lot of sandblasting. And, since I had not put in a windshield claim in nearly four years I decided it was time. Cost me my $100 deductible. So far, the PPG glass is in pretty good shape but I do admit that I avoid following large trucks too closely and try to get by them quickly. As to "classics" and collector cars, I include my own W203 on the list of "no, it isn't." RLE
