As a former nav (enlisted) - I always knew we were really in charge. I loved, as an E4, telling the O5/O6 when to turn "his" plane. By the time I was the senior E6 in the hanger, I really was God.
I think that might be why the pilots shoved me to OCS. I was the only guy who calibrated the ILS instruments and we often flew IFR. I wasn't Jesus, but he and I were definitely on a first name basis in the pilots' mind.
