Look at the rating to make sure it's proper spec for the car you want to use
it in. Also look at the product spec data, which should include the pour
point. If the pour point is at or near the lowest temperature you are likely
to experience, then don't risk it.

I know that AMSOIL has a 20w50 that is advertised as a 'leave-in'  heavy
weight synthetic for four-season use, but OTOH (IIRC, etc) heavier weights
of Mobil 1 are not suitable for year-round use.
