Speaking of construction, I think the Bamster is lying to us all about this economic problem. I have been calling foundation guys for 3 weeks to get quotes to pour for a workshop foundation, and after 3 weeks I just last night got one quote back from one guy, the others keep promising to get back to me, only one has stopped by to see the site. The guy who sent the quote had a booth at a Home Show thing here about a month ago, was pissing and moaning about how slow things were, I showed him my design, he said he would be interested to do it, now here we are. I guess I should become a foundation/concrete guy, they seem to be doing pretty well.

I am trying to get a Professor of Timber Framing at the local American College of the Building Arts here to help me get a timber frame designed and cut, for some reason the professor can't find an engineer to approve the design. Must not be an aspect of the curriculum? I suppose I could do all the structural calculations for the frame design, then find someone to stamp it, but I really wonder why this prof can't sort it out.

Ahh, a 2nd quote just arrived after 3 phone calls to the guy. Progress...

How does this strike you as a conversion?

Kinda cool, in a way. Especially today when the wife got stuck
in the mud/snow in the driveway today in the Chicken Wagon. (I,
in the Frankenheap, managed to swim slowly through, eventually.)
Looks a bit slammed, though, which does NOT interest me.
