Not sure if this is nationwide or if just my area has been targeted, but I got a call on my cell phone today from an automated system, using the name of a local bank and saying that fraud had been detected in my checking account. As it happens I don't have an account at that bank, but thought the call could be convincing to someone who did.
If you get a call like this be advised it's a scam attempt to get your account and/or debit card numbers. Do not respond to it.
