Yeah, normal, your car's way of saying "the alternator is having an issue".

I've had 3 different responses from my cars to alternator issues. My 300TD
didn't show anything until one day it wouldn't start. My 240D would put all the
lights on like yours. My 190D showed just the battery light.

If (when?) I have a really nice MB I'm going to add a voltmeter. On my
motorcycle last year the thing the brushes ride on (commutator?) was dirty and
the brushes weren't making good contact (I didn't realize I had to clean it
when I put on new brushes). The voltmeter kept me from being away from home
when the bike would run out of electricity...

You are correct. It is my pickup that is an 89.

Getting some strange stuff w/ the car. Charged the battery up overnight (to
13.89 volts). Started the car and slapped the voltmeter back onto the
battery. Not charging -- was showing about 11 volts.

However, the strange thing is that all of the idiot lights are lit up,
including the low fuel light by the fuel gauge. The SRS light does go out,
but none of the others do.

Would a voltage regulator do that?
