Stuart, the hazard relay is poopy. Gump had the same issue and after
I got the new relay from Rusty, she blinks right. I did both the
hazard and the under dash relay, since I did not want to be chasing
the thing for weeks

Hi, guys!
Yesterday, driving home, my turn signals (1976 300D, w115) quite
suddenly
stopped working (with no flakiness beforehand or other indications
of any
issues).
(Previously, my turn signal relay failed, and I temporarily* have a
generic
thermal blinker in its place, but it's unclear how that might affect
these
symptoms.
* Months - it's been a while, and I haven't been driving her much.)
Right now, the hazard lights work, if I press the button (all the
lights
blink as they should), but the only turn signal I get is one or two
blinks
after I start the car (and not always then, but if at all, then). It
_feels_
like it tries to blink again and doesn't succeed, but that's a
questionable
impression.
I've tried a second generic blinker relay, with identical symptoms.
Given how the control system works, I'd just assume it was the stalk
or the
stalk connections, except for the "working at first start for one or
two
blinks" symptom.
Anyone have thoughts or experienced this mode of failure?
Thanks,
Stuart S.
