Yeah, I can see that. But a bent rod doesn't burn oil and smoke. A cylinder bore worn into an oval due to unbalanced combustion stresses due to a bent rod will burn oil and smoke. But there's no way that can be considered a good block. Unless by 'good' you mean 'no visible hole in the side'.
