I like to blame Sta-bil... I've had many fewer problems in snowmobiles since I stopped using Sta-bil and started using Seafoam. I use an ounce per gallon in every tank and 2 ounces per gallon MORE every spring when I put them away for the summer. Haven't had to clean a carb in 2 years where before it was at least one every year.
I suspect water is a big problem in a pressure washer too. Might be worth draining the tank after every use. I've been seeing the dreaded "brown sugar" residue which I think is caused by the interaction of ethanol and water... Thats what took down my Cub Cadet the other day. -Curt Date: Sun, 5 Jul 2009 12:07:06 -0400 From: "LarryT" <l02tur...@comcast.net> Subject: Re: [MBZ] OT: I hate small engines To: "Mercedes Discussion List" <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Message-ID: <5f7d9c840b674bb3968e18a8acbb6...@toshibalaptop> Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset="iso-8859-1"; reply-type=response I also have a Pressure Washer with a Honda engine. Lately it is very hard to start and I blame a lot of that on Ethanol. I know for a fact it is hard on the needle valve and seats as I have replaced them on my Toro lawn mower twice since Ethanol became mandatory a couple of years ago. So I need to pull the honda carb apart and clean everything good. Then it'll probably start like new again. I should probably add Sta-Bil to the fuel also - I can't remember if I put any StaBil in last time I filled the tank or not. So perhaps it's my fault? Oh well....
