Stay out of the "north end" and you may be fine. Not sure I want to wander in 
parts of downtown at night either.
Good thing is that most of these characters appear to pick on their own kind 
and don't generally come out into the
burbs to cause us much trouble. Poor old fellow who worked in the beer vendor 
at the Holiday Inn on south Pembina -
Ft Richmond - was beaten last year - robbed I guess. And I have heard of native 
kids causing trouble in Waverly
Heights - Richmond West. Most of this stuff is in the north end or west end. 
Poorer areas.
